In the book of the same name, Lamentations of the Father gathers together some of Ian’s best short stories and sketches. Newsweek magazine estimated that Frazier might be “the best master of gentle laid back befuddlement since (Robert) Benchley” while The New York Times Book Review stated that Frazier “with wit and style, writes about tumbleweeds, Bonnie and Clyde, the weather, café conversation, tepees, (and) MX missles.” We just know he is funny.
